Waning Winter 2021

We are on the downhill side of the Covid year, and signs of spring are starting to show. I’ve had my two vaccines, and the businesses are beginning to open up again.

The local bar is now allowed to have more than a couple of patrons sitting inside, and LMT is beginning to wake up and smell the summer.

I have 18 plants in the grow tent, ready to plant outside. Actually, they are more than ready, many of them are over a foot tall. I probably started them too early because they outgrew the solo cups last month and I had to re-pot them. Next year I’ll start sprouting them in early March so they will be smaller when they go outside on May 15th.

Land sales are booming for this little mountain town, and I’m scrambling to keep up with the ownership changes. Empty lots sold like crazy during the Covid shutdown months. People were wanting to get out of the crowded cities, away from the virus, and up in the fresh air where they could quarantine in the woods. It’s nice to see some fresh new faces. RVs and Off-Road Vehicles along with regular campers and the ‘summer folks’ visiting every weekend. Lots of action.

My online sales increased as well. I expected the craft supply shop to do well (and it did), but the art prints were selling too! I guess that’s where some people’s stimulus checks were going. No judgment here, it’s a good thing to be able to buy some art instead of just paying bills.

I’m looking forward to the coming months and encouraged by the promise that the new government brings.
